Scott started out as a completely blank canvas. After much work and tender loving care the doll was transformed into the cute little guy in the photos below. Hello and Welcome to my site. My name is Mary and I am the artist for Mary’s Sugar Babies. Thank you for stopping by to visit Baby Scott. You'll see several different pictures of Baby Scott. I've tried to take photos the best my camera would allow. Some where taken outside as well as inside. After several weeks of work, Scott has been transformed from a completely blank canvas into the adorable little guy you see in the photos.   Coloring Process Baby Scott's coloring was painstaking achieved by using Genesis heat set paints.   All of him creases were shaded. Scott was very carefully colored and blushed using Genesis heat set paints. Even though this one of the most time consuming part of the reborn process (4-5 days), it is also the most rewarding process because this is when the blank canvas becomes a baby. It is impossible to describe each and every step in the painting process, the basic steps for Scott was: 1) to use many thin translucent layers of paint to achieve a basic skin tone. 2) Blushing all of the rolls and wrinkles for depth. 3) A few more layers of translucent paint to blend in harsh blushed areas. 4) And finally, lip and mouth paint. Scott’s lips were painted two separate shades using Genesis paints. After the last layer of paint had cured, Scott’s lips, mouth, nostrils and eyelids were slightly glossed to give them a more realistic wet appearance. Since Genesis heat set paints are permanent, Scott will never lose his sweet baby look.   Manicure for Fingers & Toes  Baby Scott receive a manicure on his fingers and toes!   He has the original Linda Scherer's 1/4 hands and feet.  Hair and Glass Eyes Baby Scott's hair was meticulously hand rooted. The hair-rooting process took hours and hours to complete and there are only 1 or 2 hairs in each in each follicle. Scott’s head of soft blonde wavy hair is high quality. A beautiful mohair that has been micro rooted with the finest gauge felting needle. After rooting him hair it was lightly trimmed for that uncut baby hair look. I purchase the best mohair available, which is glossy when raw and then properly sterilized, washed, dyed, and conditioned. Scott’s hair has been sealed on the inside with waterproof glue so that his new mom can brush and even wash it gently on occasion. I applied glue and waterproof sealant inside to hold his hair in place so that you will be able to dampen it for restyling.  Look at Scott's gorgeous green eyes! I have given him glass eyes in a beautiful green shade, and soft wispy brown human upper and lower eyelashes. His barely there eyebrows were hand painted with Genesis heat set paints.   Clothes and Body Scott's romper and sweater is all knit and truly different; white sweater and navy blue romper with red shoestring tie at the waist with red plaid cuffs. He is wearing a fresh diaper, white socks and white leather high-top shoes. Scott's body is made of a soft velour fabric which has the look and feel of doe suede.  I've used new tiny glass pellets sealed in a cloth sack as well as new premium poly-fil which doesn't bunch up.  His hands and feet are filled with glass pellets and poly-fil.  Magnetic Pacifier Caution: The magnet used for these pacifiers are very strong! Please use caution around electronic equipment and pacemakers.  Do not place them near your computer, credit cards, anything with a magnet strip...and please .. keep away from pacemakers.  Coming Home Baby Scott will arrive home as you see him,  along with his teddy bear friend and reborn birth certificate.
